How I Work
I do not offer advice or instructions, and I do not prescribe medication nor diagnose.
I work in an integrative way. What does this mean? Integrative counselling brings together different elements of specific therapies.
I am trained as a Person-Centered and Psychodynamic counsellor. I work combining the two modalities along with Internal Family Systems.
Integrative Counselling
-
Person-Centered
As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, accepting, and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely, without fear of judgment. I believe that you are the expert in your own life and that, with the right support, you have the ability to find the answers that feel right for you.
Person-centered counselling focuses on working with your emotions and the collaborative relationship between client / counsellor. Our work together will be led by your needs and at your pace. I will listen with empathy, respect, and genuine care, helping you connect with your emotions and explore different aspects of yourself. Through this, we can gently challenge any limiting beliefs or patterns that may be holding you back. My aim is to support you in strengthening your self-esteem, deepening your self-awareness, and living in a way that feels more authentic and true to who you are.
-
Psychodynamic
As a psychodynamic counsellor, I offer a space where you can speak freely and be truly heard. Together, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, gently uncovering how past experiences—especially early relationships—may be shaping your present emotions, behaviours, and patterns of relating.
We may work with imagery and dream analysis, explore your defence mechanisms, and make connections between past and present to help you gain a deeper awareness of yourself. This process isn’t about quick fixes but about creating a space for reflection, self-discovery, and meaningful change. Through this work, we will move towards a more fulfilling way of being, helping you develop a stronger sense of self and a greater sense of emotional freedom.

Internal Family Systems
Internal Family Systems (IFS) understands the mind as having different "parts," each with its own role, and a core Self that holds wisdom, compassion, and strength. In our work together, we’ll explore the different parts of you that shape your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Some parts may work hard to protect you, while others might carry deep wounds. Through gentle exploration, we’ll get to know these parts, helping them feel heard and understood, so they no longer have to carry their burdens alone.
IFS is especially helpful in working through trauma, anxiety, and self-acceptance. Together, we’ll create a safe space where you can approach your inner world with more kindness, curiosity, and understanding—allowing you to move toward healing and a deeper sense of wholeness.
Parts Explored in Counselling When Working With Internal Family Systems:
Self: The compassionate, calm, and wise core of an individual. The Self is capable of healing and leading the internal system when unburdened.
Managers: Protective parts that try to prevent pain and vulnerability by maintaining control, perfectionism, or people-pleasing.
Firefighters: Reactive parts that aim to numb or distract from distress (e.g., through substance use, self-harm, or dissociation).
Exiles: Wounded parts carrying deep pain, shame, or trauma, often hidden away to prevent overwhelming emotions.
